Found at Sam's Club today. Looked like they would be worth a try, and something to keep in the freezer for a quick lunch or supper. OMG, they were great!!!

Avocado spread, with cilantro lime sauce, triple bacon, pepper jack cheese singles, and jalapeños. Darn near too big for lunch, but I worked thru it.

Love 'em that way Blank! Great stuff, and it's definitely worth getting the Hatch version.

Did you grill the patties?

Yep, gas grilled - took about 10 minutes. The wife wanted to know how they tasted, so we knew if they were hot, and how to package them for the freezer. She really liked them, so 3 per package. They are 1/3 of a pound and didn't shrink badly at all.

How much heat did the hatch chiles add? Can you taste it?

Not hardly any heat, just good taste. Wife liked it, and she doesn't do hot. Said it was more of a lingering heat, that came after, about like the pepper jack cheese. Next time, I will add sauce on top of mine after cooking.

Oh, I was in Hatch on Thursday, they are roasting away!!

That time of the year! I talked with my grocer, and their delivery is scheduled for Aug 12th this year. Roast them in the parking lot, for 3 weeks, or until they're all gone. Said because of the dry season and heat stress, they are not selling MILD/MEDIUM/HOT this year, all are developed either Med or Hot.

HEB will roast your hatch chilies free.

That's the nice thing about the smaller stores. Roasting is the pain; we get them home, clean and peel most of the skins and then vacuum pack/freeze for the rest of the year. Takes us all morning, but the food pleasure the rest of the year is worth it!!!
