Anyone on here drawn a Texas pronghorn hunt before? I have 7 points as of this year. Curious on if I’m getting anywhere close.

Drew the Rita Blanca pronghorn 10 years ago. I had, I think 15 points my nephew 0. So our group had 7points. There is no set number to get drawn on any of the TPWD draw hunts. It is a random draw with you getting more entries the more points you have.

It was a good hunt. But, that year I drew 3, pronghorn buck tags, New Mexico, Wyoming and Texas. The Wyoming hunt was fantastic and before the Texas hunt. I killed a awesome buck in Wyoming and the Texas hunt was totally anticlimactic in comparison. I spent a 1.5 days scouting and opening morning shot the biggest one I found the previous day scouting. There was a bad drought that year in the Texas panhandle and the horns were just OK.

Wish I could help on the draw experience. I think a pronghorn is the best looking mount. A pronghorn is the only shoulder mount I have in the house. I prefer a mesquite horn mount on deer.

I drew one of the private lands hunts a couple of years ago. Here's the thread.
