Found this guy chilling in a cedar tree. I did some research and looks like a collared lizard to me but wanted to see what y’all thought. Pic was taken about an hour east of Lubbock.

Looks like one. The ones we had in Foard county were a greenish blue color. Yours is more yellow.

This and more than likely a female. We get the reticulate collared ones down south. Pretty neat you got that close.

Definitely a collared lizard. Growing up we called them Mountain Boomers, but they are actually called Collared Lizards.

We had those in Kent county. He lived in some rocks in camp. One of the kids left his T Rex plastic dinosaur out by the firepit. Lizard attacked it biting its plastic neck and head then started humping it harder than a sailor on shore leave. Funny as heck.

I saw one on my place. It’s coloring was the brightest turquoise I have ever seen, so much so it did not look real. He was fast too.
