Debating wether I should add a Blackstone griddle to the cooking lineup or just put a griddle on the gas grill. The gas grill is 32 inches wide, so a griddle would be around 30 inches wide. Ive never cooked on a griddle, so I really don’t know what to expect or look for.

I left mine in Texas when I moved to Alabama. Too much griddle for just The Boss and I. But when I lived in Texas, I used mine all the time when cooking for family and friends. Still miss it. I now have a cast iron pizza griddle I use on the BGE.

Had a 4 burner for a short while.
They are great to cook on especially large quantities of food, the griddle itself is very heavy duty
If you have plenty of storage room, entertain a lot or want to take it out to the lease, camping out etc. to cook on it is great!

Don’t have a blackstone but do have a 6 burner griddle. It’s way to big. As nice as it is to cook a large amount of food I’d go smaller if I did it again. We use it a couple times a week. Breakfast is nice to cook all at once and not stink up the house.

I got 2 griddles (big and small) that I put on my gas grill or camp cooker. I just looked at the Blackstones, those look nice. I like the one where the grease drains off the back into a grease trap. What would be real nice if they had 2 knobs to easily adjust the leveling of the griddle.

Idk my brand but our new rv came w a griddle, decided I really like it. Works very well.
I know black stone is “the brand” but I’m happy w what I got. Like it better than a griddle on a burner

i am cancelling my subscription, i am tired of your issues!

Hey Guy, where did you get that griddle with the drain channels. It resembles the one my granddad had when we went camping...minus the handles.

If you got the space go for it.

I will advise it gets damn hot standing in front of that thing - bit of a beatch on a hot summer night.

X2 get the 4 burner blackstone or equivalent if you have room for it.

I also recommend the natural gas conversion kit if you have a stub out nearby. The flame control isn't as precise as with propane, but it's good enough for never having to change tanks.

I had never owned a griddle. I fished Toledo Bend with a buddy this spring and blackened 36 bass fillets on his Blackstone (Not all at once), I now have a griddle. You have to clean it good and oil it every time.

They both got drain channels, but the small one with the handles on the side, I got that at academy years ago.

I would go with the Blackstone. Love cooking on a big griddle, so many things you can do...

Definitely get one. I stopped using my regular gas grill after getting the blackstone.

Love our 2 burner Blackstone, so versatile and a great additional method of cooking along with my Weber Genesis and the Traeger. We just did some chicken fried chicken and some chicken fried steaks ala Mary’s in Strawn TX.
Turned out great, juicy and tender!

That will never happen. My grill is reserved for steaks, chicken, and chops. However, I HATE cooking burgers on it and want to try these new fancy smash burgers, and the wife wants fried rice.

Find an old gas heating unit, preferably already converted to propane. Gut the burner tubes out of it and get some 1/4" steel plate, 2" angle iron, some 2" U channel. and 1" angle iron. The 1/4" plate is the griddle, the U channel is your grease catcher on the front side. The 2" angle iron is for the sides and back. 1" angle iron for the stand, legs, mounts etc. You have to have the burner before you plan anything, everything has to be planned around the burner. You will need some 1//8 sheet metal for skirting etc if you want pretty.

Mine was 18x36 with 2 burners. A POS "liberated" it from us one night at a cook off in Brady. It had our team name welded on the back splash. Dinky Dau Bar & Grill.

Yeah that why I’m considering the Blackstone as a portable unit vs the Blaze as a built in. Also the $400 price tag vs $2000.
