Had a craving for a shrimp poboy this weekend. I can't really get the good french bread required here in Dallas but I found a decent substitute a the grocery. Oh, and I decided to smoke another pork roast for the heck of it. Kept it on about an hour too long (over slept)

What bread and sauce did you use? Looks delish! Just the basics on the sauce: Mayo, Ketchup, and Louisiana Hot Sauce. The bread Bolillo's from the Tom Thumb Bakery. I wrapped them in foil with a spray of water and warmed them up in the oven to soften them up. There is a seafood market in Plano that sells frozen Gambino's bread from New Orleans. When I have time I go get my bread from there. It's the closest you can get to good french bread.

Looks awesome indeed. I love good bread! But for whatever reason I can't anymore. I get so dang sleepy after eating bread like that I'm done.

Yeah, I have cut back on my bread intake heavily but I still crave it. When I was a kid I'd eat a loaf of fresh white bread buttered and a gallon of whole milk in a few days. If I did that today I'd gain 30 pounds inside a few months

I love fresh buttered bread, and still crave it occasionally, but have found that fresh made tortillas satisfy me just as well.
