Close but no cigar. It was 46 years.

Yessir. Branson was the first to carry passengers in a privately funded "spaceship".
In the end, it's not the years in your life that count, it's the life in your years.

Close but no Cigar,,, He went 55 miles, or 295,000ft up. That ain't space. 62 mi above sea level, is conventionally used as the start of outer space in space. If they went a little further in that plane, the fun would have started. Yee Haw!

The X15 record was 354,200 feet according to NASA, I’d proudly strap into that beast today and go for a ride. But honestly it’s the government so who knows what the heck they actually did.

NASA & FAA define space at the 50 mile mark. Close enough I guess … unless you’re a butthurt Jeff Bezos

Dumbing down the level of space for the under-dogs. Now they're gonna put an 82 yr old woman up there. Just because ya can...
One shot is all it should take.

Has trained more than 2,000 aviation students, ferried war birds, trained fighter pilots, and was one of the original females considered when the Space Administration was selecting pilots for the Mercury program. Wally is a pretty cool lady, and an OSU alum to boot!
