I am very excited about getting to field test a new prototype thermal sight from Bering Optics. Monday's hunt was a success and I hope to get in a couple more hunts with the new scope and then my partner, Pig_Popper will likely have a more thorough overview of the features. Hunt video(s) should be out at the end of next week.

Folds out for use and flat(ish) for stowing away (as in the pics).

Why don't you like CR123. It is an excellent power source. And yes, that is the onboard power, or you can power externally.

I’m not a fan of CR123 batteries either. Too expensive and don’t last long especially in the cold. I think rechargeable and removable batteries are much better. Nothing is worse than having cables and battery packs attached to a weapon and the optic IMO.

I get it. We all have our preferences. I am not a fan of hugely overpriced proprietary batteries like those Pulsar sells. They sell you a battery for $80-100 that has the comparable power supply of a $20 powerbank from Amazon, right. Plus, if something happens to Pulsar or they stop making those batteries, nobody else is going to make them because they are proprietary and such a limited market.

I’d rather see them use the rechargeable 18650 battery’s like some of the high powered flashlights use.

I probably would as well, but 18650 batteries have a very dubious history. 16650s, however, don't, and are the same size as CR123s in diameter. So you could use one to replace 2 CR123s in line in a Surefire flashlight (and several other brands), for example, that won't hold 18650s.
