In an all American cartridge, .308 Winchester. Good friend of mine hunts with it, and wanted great ammo for it. They just shoot pretty danged good, especially for their price!

200 yards

It will keel.

Load F doesn't look to shabby either. 1 1/16" T x 1 9/16"W. But I cannot ignore load B, gotta go with it.

Nice!

It’s just hard to argue against a Ruger American for that price point

Solid rifles

That's gotta be the best deal in factory rifles. That's some good shooting at 200, too. You get any velocity data for that load?

With that Monarch, with a Mil reticle, I can only do holds out to 600 yards. And really 600 is all the reticle it's got.

2550 fps MV.

A sub-$700 rifle/scope combo that will effectively hunt to 600 yards. This thread is the answer to more than half of the questions in the guns/scopes categories.

A 600 yd gun for jG means a 300 yd gun (maybe) for most of us.

Nah!

Just learn Mils, hold what the chart says, and hold what you judge for wind.

The hard part is the "hold" smile Without a good rest I can't hold at 600 yds.

I hate that I sold my Predators in 308 and 243. Both shot amazing and price point was excellent.

This is what most of us can not do effectively.

I know well. Had hundreds of people on the range, all day. The wind judgement is the trick.

I go shoot when it's blowing 10 mph and above. Anyone can hit things when it's calm. Those that can hit things when it's windy are the rare breed. It takes practice. I'm still practicing.
