I just picked up a Mark V, Weathermark, and looking to see what your shooting. Leaning towards Nosler Partitions.

Partitions are never a bad choice for hunting unless stretching it real long. Nosler Accubonds which I mostly used when I had one and Barnes TTSX also are good in it.

I’ve killed a few animals with one. Probably the last 70 have been 115gr VLD’s. Before that 100gr partitions, 100gr tsx’s, 80 gr ttsx’s, 87 spirepoint, 110 AB, and 100gr spitzers... Just Off top of my head.

My favorites are 115vld, 100gr partition and 80 gr ttsx

I shoot one. The 100 grain Partition is hard to beat. I've used the 87 grain factory loads and they do quite well on whitetail and awesome on yotes. Bigger than a whitetail and I'd stick to the 100 grain partitions, I like to hang on to as much speed as I can. Haven't shot the 80 grain ttsx but I'm sure it's quite a performer also. Main reason I shoot a lot of 87's is I bought 5 boxes from the factory for 42,50 a box them about two weeks later I guess our local Walmart decided to clean out old stock and bought 6 more boxes for 29.50 a box. Picked up 3 boxes of 300 Weatherby Spire Points for the same price.. I'll die before I shoot up all my Weatherby ammo.

Yes! A Weatherby does kill them deader.

I shoot 257 Wby, 115 grain Barnes, RL22.

I better say I used to Shoot RL 22, I think I have 1/3 of a can left. I have a few pounds of N165, should work.

Also bought a bunch of 115 and 120 gr. Partitions. I need to wok up some loads some day.

Thanks, Billy

Nope. God gave Roy a vision in 1944. In 1948, Thor’s hammer became available to mortals. Thunder is just a warning that 257wby is about to strike.

In other words God doesnt appreciate blasphemy so you better that that wrong opinion back...

My Uncle loves his .257 Weatherby, shooting handloaded 115 Grain Nosler Partitions with enough IMR-7828 to get them to about 3300 fps.

Just my .02,

I’ve got one I’ve been dying to sight in, but with the cost of initial ammo, then trying to find components to load the brass again or finding factory ammo to replace it, I haven’t shot it yet. Hope to get it sighted in a shoot a critter or two with it this deer season

Hard to beat. This is the drops for 90 gr absolute hammer. I can't wait to get my other one setup with the 1 in 7 barrel.

With this bullet what would the "dead-zero" sight-in be for this rifle for deer/antelope (i.e. max rise 3" & max drop 3" so you could hold right-on)?

115vld. This is a mild load. It's only 3260. Alot if people push them to 3400’ish
