The wife makes Mustang Jelly every year. We have many healthy vines to supply the grapes.

I made some wild plum jelly over 30 years ago. It was a little runny and great on pancakes.

Seems early for mustangs, yours must get riper before the vine that we pick from. I do know folks that cook the juice out and freeze it and make jelly later, when it is not 100 degrees out.
We usually make jelly after the beginning of August. Depending on the year it can even be near the end of August.
We made 20 pints last year. That takes about a five gallon bucket full of grapes.
This thread makes me want to go check the vines, maybe it is an early year.

Make homemade wine from Mustang Grapes too, it’s good stuff.

Makes good Jelly. I put some up each year.

I see we all have a similar process. Big bowls and pots.
I got tired of waiting on juice to strain through a cheese cloth. I found this. And with a few modifications it smashes the heck out of grapes, fast.

Dang flintknapper! Those are some plump looking grapes. Getting 23 cups from 22 pounds is pretty good.
Grapes around here look anorexic compared to those.

My mustang grapes are still green as can be.
