Hawk attacks rabbit. Rabbit Squeals. Did the doe think the hawk was attacking her fawn???

Neat video. Nice place. Definitely responding to a distress call.

That is a great video! I agree that she is responding to a fawn in distress. I have seen something very similar in South Texas. It was late July to early August and I saw 5 adult coyotes laying on a tank dam that was over a mile from me. I drove to about 600 yards away and snuck the rest of the way to the dam, only to find the coyotes gone. So I laid down on the dam and started to call coyotes with a Haydel's Baby Cottontail. I immediately had 4 does running in from the south towards the dam and straight to me. They got within 30 yards and held up. When they saw me and left I called them back 2 more times, but no coyotes. I kept calling and then back to the NE had single coyote running to me with a lone doe in hot pursuit...she was gaining ground....the coyote ran around the pit of the tank and right at me. He was running for his life with the doe in hot pursuit. I was laughing so hard I could not get on the fast moving coyote till he cut into my scent trail and started away from me. I finally got off one shot as he hit the brushline but it was a clean miss.
Are idiots multiplying faster than normal people?

Wow. At the end it looks like she's killed the hawk and is eating it.

I've used a fawn in distress call during fawning season when hunting coyotes and I'll call in 10 deer for every predator I see. The maternal instinct is strong in white tails.

Isn't it a Federal crime to kill a Red Tail Hawk? Someone should call Fed Fish & Game.
Wonder why she kept chasing the other doe off??

Man....she opened up a number 303 can O' Kick Azz on that hawk!
Unbelievable how determined she was to try and kill it.
Left that hawk all 'Humpty Dumpty'd' for sure.

Wonder why she kept chasing the other doe off?? You're not married are you? She was chasing the other deer off because she was mad and protective.

Awesome video.
Had a doe do that to my dog once. It wasn't pretty. But luckily I was there and was able to break up the fight, and survived myself. Cost me $1k to fix that dog.
