Hi There -- We're a group of 3 management-minded hunters looking for an annual lease with year-round access. We consider ourselves stewards of the land and plan to do our part to aid in the upkeep and management of the property as much as our work schedules allow. We enjoy being on the land, observing animals, as much as hunting, hence the reason for our interest in year round access.

We're all in our mid-30s with kids likely in our near future and hoping to find a long-term lease. Open to entertaining our own lease, but also very interested in joining a group of seasoned hunters to learn & share experiences with. One member of our group has 8 years experience guiding on multiple high and low fence ranches across the state, even developed & implemented MLDP management programs on a few.

Our primary objective is whitetail, but would be even happier if turkey was an opportunity as well. We are spread between Lake Travis and Fortworth Areas and so have attached a photo for reference of where we're ideally looking for a lease. We're flexible on lodge/water/electricity access for the right lease.

Willing to pay between $3-5K/gun for the right lease.

Lastly, we're grateful in advance for any leads shared. Had a chance to connect with a couple great folks through this forum already and look forward to connecting with more.

Bump along with a photo of an interesting 4x3(ish) I got while out with TKandMike late last season taken at about 150 yards on a beautiful morning. We used to have access to his company lease and then he went and got himself a (great) new job and now we're looking for our own. Thanks all.

Bump. We’re still on the ol’ hunt for the hunt. Me and TKandMike’s third crew member claims he has the best smoker venison burger recipe. Jury is out but they do look good.

I noticed you posted on another thread saying you would consider joining in with others that are also looking. I think thats smart to be proactive and creative about expanding your possibilities. No one expects anyone to just saddle up next to a stranger but I think more on here should reach out and start developing relationships when theres the possibility of helping one another out. A person can find friend or foe anywhere but with this forum there is an implied "kinship" since it is a "hunting" forum, so thats a good starting point. Good luck in your search and to others.

Thanks freerange, appreciate your comments as always. We've gotten one promising lead from this post so far, but we are still on the search. Couldn't agree more that this forum thus far has proven to be a good place to find kindred spirits.

Sunday bump -- our group is still on the look out for a lease. Been doing a lot of thinking as of late about how the freeze may have affected animal populations throughout the state. Lots of folks headed for axis hunts were uncertain of the outlook for the summer rut. Curious what folks are seeing around their leases at this time of the year?

There are some other threads about this but Im not sure where. Im no expert on Exotics but some of them were hit pretty good but then others have said no. Its seems like most of the smart money on WT says that it didnt hurt much and what it did hurt would of been older and/or in bad condition.

Always appreciate your input freerange. In the meantime, sending another bump. Combined forces with a friend this last weekend who has developed serious skills making pizza with one of those Ooni ovens if anybody has ever heard of them. Couple photos of our venison jalapeno pizzas below. Well received by the whole family.

Happy to announce we can officially archive this request! We found a great lease opportunity through a PM based off this thread with a group of like minded hunters.

Preaching to the choir most likely, but touting the success and value that this forum provides for connecting folks and hopefully giving some hope to those still looking.

Big shout out to freerange and TLK for offering helpful advice along the way as well. Fired up for deer season!

Congratulations. You were persistent, thorough and played it out well. Also, everyone doesnt always just take the first check offered, so you probably did a sufficient job of selling yourself as well. Good luck.

Yup! It's been a great resource for me as well. Congrats!

Glad you guys found a good one. Some buddies and myself are in a similar situation and I may follow your lead on the “right” way to go about using this forum to build relationships and find some options, if our current feelers don’t pan out. This forum has been a great resource to me in so many ways since my friend turned me onto it.

Gurka — I learned from others is pays to be humble and to be specific with what you’re looking for. I’d also suggest while I was fortunate, best to exhaust your options in your search. LeaseHunter had good posts, Facebook groups have a couple good options every now and then, feed stores, even tpwd has a lease section. Ya just got to be persistent. Wouldn’t bother with huntinglocator, they swindle you into payment only to find out all the leases advertised could be months if not longer old and already filled. Good luck to ya

TX, thanks for the input. It is greatly appreciated. We’ve started the search with some of those resources, but a few of them I never even considered. I’m sure I’ll be picking your brain again on the subject! Thanks!
