Correct, most of them are pretty "bitey" by nature. They'll make you bleed pretty good but, otherwise harmless and smelly.

Diamondback water snake. These guys get pretty large and thick. Put out a lot of musk and have a short temper when handled!

Diamondback water snake. These guys get pretty large and thick. Put out a lot of musk and have a short temper when handled! Yep, pretty good sized one in this video, but they get bigger.
