Why not just use a regular net? A lot less expensive.

This is what you need. A lot less death loss for the animals and a lot safer for you.

They are in the USA, I believe the one you referred to is in New Zealand.

just some axis but I cant leave a large capture cage set up for more than a night so I would have to take it down and put it up each night. I have used net guns before but out of a helicopter. property is too small and residential to fly a helicopter around. You have more range out of a helicopter with a net gun and I think the range on the ground is around 30 yards. that is why I was looking at the other option I posted

Axis tend to stress really bad under any kind of net. That is why I asked what you were catching, since certain animals under a net are really a handful. The portable trap Don posted is what I would try to go with if at all possible. Dart them would be my choice, just take much longer.

Very true. Even with the net you are going to have to sedate them. Sounds to me that whatever you do at that location is not worth the trouble.

I'm thinking about darting some axis with BAM and moving them. What tips can you give me as far as after I dart and reverse in the trailer. Some have said they stress bad and to sedate? just trying to find out so hopefully wont loose any. First time dealing with axis.
Thanks in advance.

Do it early in the morning before it gets hot. And a lot depends on how far and long you are planning on keeping them in the trailer.

i have trapped them before with a net out of a helicopter. I have only had one die on me. They are transported immediately and out of shackles in less than 10-15 min. Set up hay in the trailer for the transport and most of the time they are asleep when you arrive at the drop off site. never had to sedate any axis or whitetail. saw off horns right before taking the shackles off and makes life easier
