Yesterday was in Llano and got some brisket at Coopers. That was the worst smoked brisket I have had in a while.

At least they're expensive!

Back in the day it was good.

We ate there a couple of years ago because I had always heard how great it was. Brisket was so darn salty, it was terrible!

I MUCH prefer Inman's country kitchen about 1/4 mile west of Cooper's on the north side of hwy 29. At least for brisket and their famous turkey sausage. The thick pork chop at Cooper's has always been solid but their brisket has been real lacking the last few times I've tried it.

Ate their a very long time ago and it was either real good then or I had no clue what good BBQ was?

Also tried the one in Coppell about 5 years ago, no bueno!

Coopers started heading down hill the day after Mr. Cooper sold it back in the late 80's.

At $23 a pound it should have been the best I had ever had.

Got to head to Valley Spring two weeks ago and the trip just did not work out well. Wanted to stop at Coopers and eat, but the time was not there. Saw the place just past Coopers and knew it was there for a reason.

Haven't been there in years.

Cooper's in Llano is the only one I will eat at. The new Cooper's that are popping up everywhere are worse.

The one in new braunfels isn’t too bad, though I haven’t been for quite a while.

Only been to the old one years ago.

The one in Junction was a disappointment when I ate there. The one in the Ft Worth Stockyards is like Hard 8 as far as I am concerned meh.

They're by the highway and fast. Lots of first-time, one-time customers. Like the song says - "You're not the best, but you're the best that I can do."

Cooper's lost it years ago.

it's sad to see a legend go downhill. same happened to Angelos here in fort worth. once best in town, now just mediocre.

I tried the Junction location twice when that was a good stopping point on my to a lease out west. After that I went to McD’s across the street.

Lum's (in Junction) , back towards town on 83 about a mile, is much better and slightly cheaper. But slower ordering. And now that summer is here, and the moms have to ask each little darling what they want, as they each run back and forth to the restroom...you're screwed.

Eaten there a couple times and it was pretty good but way, WAY overpriced IMO for what you get.

Granzins here in NB is pretty dang good and very consistent for a good price.

Go to the back room and look at his trophies. One very spectacular whitetail among many fine trophies.
