Been playing around with an AR that my wife got me for my birthday (5.56/.223, my first AR), it's accurate but the factory trigger is rough and breaks around 8# so I think I can do much better with a decent trigger. Can anyone suggest a better trigger, maybe something like 3-4# pull single stage? Timney, Geissele, or ???

I like my CMC triggers. Primary Arms puts them on sale pretty often. Easy to install. YouTube has good how to videos.

I have a few LaRue MBT-2S and like them a lot. They are around $90 IIRC.

I am still looking for the perfect apron, one with reinforced knee areas would be perfect.

Another for CMC...I like the 2.5lb and straight shoe though. Also, most of them will meter less than 2lb.
LaRue makes great products, I don't put them at the top of the list due to the behavior and superiority complex the bedside manner shows from the owner. I put them in the same category with Q...little too much arrogance for me but you won't see me talking negative about their goods...both are as good as anyone makes.

I have 3 from Patriot Ordnance (best, most durable I've found for 9mm guns-they can be hard on triggers)
I have 3 from Rock River - Varmint
I have 2 from Rise Armament (RA140)
I have 7 from LaRue (MB2S)
LaRue is where I start these days... Never met the folks behind any of them.

Surprised I didn't see any comments about the triggers from Wilson Combat. I have a few and couldn't be happier.

Thanks for all the suggestions...., looks like CMC and LaRue are the favorites around here. Will see about ordering one. Any preference as to single vs 2 stage?

I've had both and I tend to gravitate toward the single stage...but it's personal preference.

I have 2 stage geissele triggers on all my ARs. Never liked CMC. Tried several and they aren't for me. Maybe that's because I already had geissele's, but I'm not sure. Yes, CMC is an upgrade, but I'd rather spend a little more and get the geissele, especially when they are on sale. Night and day difference for me.
