https://www.atf.gov/rules-and-regulations/factoring-criteria-firearms-attached-stabilizing-bracesIf you read down a bit you'll find ATF worksheet 4999 which gives the criterion they'll use to classify weapons as braced pistols or SBRs. Of course it's convoluted and subjective, but they do have specific weight and length restrictions. Essentially anything adjustable is out, and there is no grandfather clause. You either pay the $200 stamp or turn it in.

I wonder if there will be an option to make the lower into a rifle? I agree with you that it reads turn it in or pay the $200.00. However, if I pay the $200.00 shouldn’t I be able to use a collapsible stock?

ATF Biden at it again... SMDH. ATF was perfectly content with what the Technology Branch had already come up with. Biden signed an EO directing them to make braces a NFA item.

So if a lower receiver has a arm brace but the upper is taken off, is this a problem?
