Hill Barbecue in Lubbock near Lubbock Cooper school. While he has a big pit smoker all he serves out of his roach coach are hamburgers and hot dogs and excellent french fries. I guess he custom smokes for others or has stands for his barbecue. Hamburger and dogs might be the best in Lubbock, just my opinion.

bigbob, we had lunch there today, had a patty melt with onion rings. Finished it off with a peach cobbler with ice cream on top. It's hard to beat, 5 minutes from the house.

Bebos between Aubrey and Pilot Point on 377 is good.
Last time we ate there the food has fallen off. We went there last Friday around noon. Sat 15 minutes never got waited on. About that time another couple were griping about their food being cold. After waiting 30 minutes just to get waited on and another 30 minutes to get their food. We got up and left and will not be back.
NB - Freiheit Country Store Marion - GG's Cafe Utopia - Lost Maples Cafe Waring - Popo Family Restaurant
GG's Cafe is the second coming of Gorkeys Country Tavern that used to be on Weil Road in Cibolo out on Weil Road, it has a smokin Joes trailers in it now. I believe the GG is suppose to stand for Gorkey Girls, but not 100%.

Yes, the Goerke girls sold it last year, but the new owner was smart enough not to change anything. Now he's opening one up in Saigon.

I I lived closer to Leona, TX I would love to check this place out.
We tried it once and were highly disappointed. Steaks were full of gristle. Service was horrible. This was years pre-covid. Have zero plans to go back.

Dang man, that sucks, i've been a few times, and my brother and his friends used to go fairly often. I usually get a 10oz medium rare, they're great, very little gristle. I like their pecan cobbler and blue bell

Coppell Deli was GREAT back in the day. not sure if The same dick head still has it. He owns The Deliman Grill also. I sold him food for years. HI Fat burgers, Fries in Lard all the good stuff. Had a bunch of menu items named after Dallas Cowboy players as they were close to Valley Ranch, bunch of Cowboys lived in Coppell.
Jay Karami was his name, how could I forget
John Madden and Troy Aikman stopped by there in the Madden cruiser when the Cowboys were making another Super Bowl run. I told you, back in the day !! It was on the NFL Pre Game show.
It went straight to the guys head. jeeeeezus
food was great though. I would always get the "Stubb" . named after Daniel Stubbs. It was one he77 of a GUT BOMB !!!

Tons of little gas station taquarias scattered around TX that have good stuff. One here in Gilmer. When i have to head over to DFW, the Shell station at exit 509 on I-20 is my go-to lunch spot.

Alamo Springs is legit. If you are having adult beverages, you need to save your bottle caps and pay at the end by showing how many caps you have. At least it was that way pre-Covid. One of the best burgers I have ever had.

We've gotten sick there twice. 'Probably just someone not cleaning the grill properly. We've also had some good times and good friends there a time or two. 'Used to be able to hear the bass player from my place, but we sold the place and got the hell out. Too many people loving the area to death. The locals called Alamo Springs "Hippie Hollow" when that ranch was first bought and busted up. (Not to be confused with the famous area on some lake by some city east of there.) But, there was plenty of dope grown in them thar hills for the last 35+ years.

I tried Clown burger yesterday and the burgers and fries are really close to the past. They do need to work out the ordering/cooking process, but that will come with a little time.

Lil Joe's BBQ and burgers in Rosebud Tx. on Hwy.77 going south from Waco, small wooden shack on your left before the one blinking light, you will drive by it if your not looking for it. But youll see all the local trucks there. Just saying but better than the BBQ joint that's down the road in Lexington thats always in the top three in the state with the grandmother pit master, thats only open on Saturday with people wating in line.

Billy's BBQ in Bastrop was my go-to when I lived near there.
