https://www.atf.gov/rules-and-regulations/factoring-criteria-firearms-attached-stabilizing-braces

If you read down a bit you'll find ATF worksheet 4999 which gives the criterion they'll use to classify weapons as braced pistols or SBRs. Of course it's convoluted and subjective, but they do have specific weight and length restrictions. Essentially anything adjustable is out, and there is no grandfather clause. You either pay the $200 stamp or turn it in.

Back up irons and hand stops will now cost you points on their little 0-4 point grading system. This is simply a rogue bureaucracy running amok.

I wonder if there will be an option to make the lower into a rifle? I agree with you that it reads turn it in or pay the $200.00. However, if I pay the $200.00 shouldn’t I be able to use a collapsible stock?

ATF was perfectly content with what the Technology Branch had already come up with. Biden signed an EO directing them to make braces a NFA item.

Yeah, pretty sure ATF gets giddy whenever they have a chance to go after guns.

So if a lower receiver has a arm brace but the upper is taken off, is this a problem?

Gun Owners of America has a push going on to fight this, go to their web site and send the pre-written letter to BATF and urge everyone you know to also

Just read the whole document on ATF website (https://www.federalregister.gov/doc...attached-stabilizing-braces#open-comment)

We are screwed. The language in there is air tight.
