Well since no one would give me advice and big pig only gave me bad advice. I went ahead and bought the propane model since I was at academy and they had one. Gonna throw some store bought pizzas on it tonight because I’m impatient and want to try it out. Then have to pull my mixer and what not out of storage to made some homemade dough and sauce to use

Well first cook didn’t go so great or bad. I need a thermometer gun to tell how hot the stone is. Your supposed to cook with it at 900 or so. The top started burning before the bottom was done so I don’t think it was hot enough. Then I went and knocked it off the table so it’s good and all scratched up now. Got a good burn on a couple fingers dragging it out of the way before it caught the treager cover on fire. bang

Second one came out much better.

Round two I will be ready with home made pizzas made for high temp cooking. And a thermometer so I know I’m at the right temp. Most importantly a table it actually will be safe on.

If I run my Weber and pizza stone to 900 it burns the hell out of the crust and leaves the top gooey.

Yeah you gotta have space so that heat can roll over to cook the top, which is why I have given up grilling pizza, I like burnt spots on my cheese.

I like the crispy scorched crusts with a lot of cheese and sausage.

Go to Jimmy's in Dallas and stock up on their premade crusts, making your own dough is a PITA.

Definitely a good way to practice, 2nd one looks just right. That would be nice toy to add to the arsenal... nearest pizza is 30 miles away.
