Be careful out there. Recently One of our local hog hunters while hunting with a small group of family/friends split about 50 yards away from the group as they snuck up on a sounder and one of his buddies swinging on a running hog shot his friend in the navel and out his back narrowly missing the spine. Last I heard he will survive after numerous surgeries.

Yeah, I figured that has to be a very controlled situation, or accidents will happen. Zero alcohol and I would get really nervous if it was more than 3 people.

Thought it might have but didn’t see it in this forum or missed it. I don’t look at this particular forum really but a mutual friend of theirs called me and asked me to remind fellow hunters that hunting with Thermal carries its own particular hazards.
I carried 3 hunters from Minnesota Thermal hog hunting two weeks ago about the same time this happened.
I could see how this might happen if someone was not thinking and someone else was careless.

Oh and Minnesotans can kill stuff if you give them a big enough target. cheers

Swing through isn't just a thermal issue. It is a hunting issue. Daylight deer hunters, quail hunters, dove hunters, Dick Cheney etc. have been doing this for a long time in broad daylight with day optics or no optics. Aside from hunters shooting themselves, swing through shooting of hunters is probably one of the more common ways in which hunters get hurt. For example, with dove hunting alone in one year, look at how many incidents are specifically noted where the shooter swung onto another hunter and shot that other hunter...
