I goes with the territory IMO. You gotta pay to play therefore I don't have much sympathy. I played behind the plate for years.....had my knees replaced 3 years ago. I didn't piss and moan about it.

Sounds like he may be nursing an injury.
College recruits, especially RBs have changed. They used to want to come to college and immediately start. Now they want to wait until junior year after 2 years of getting bigger, faster and stronger.
Need RB depth to save on the wear and tear, Especially if you want an NFL career, which don’t really apply to the Longhorns.
No one wants to be Earl Campbell. Sounds like a business move..... I'm not a fan of the approach. Earls problem is spinal stenosis, which is hereditary

Dudes a heck of a ball player, going to college to play ball. Took one to the face a while back, bad enough to where he was unresponsive and was care flighted. Soon as he’s released he’s playing and my buddy told me he’s still pissed when they pitch around him (pretty regular) he wants to win by putting one over the wall, not by walking to 1st.

yes, he did think it out and answer it well but IMO I don't like it at all. If there is a good, legit reason to sit out like rehab on an injury that is needed, then OK. But if not, I say it is trying to put an 'I' into team and it don't fit. Have a friend that played 9 years in the league and has a superbowl ring and still says his fondest memories are playing HSFB.
High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

tough to be loyal to your college team if you are not loyal and contributing to the success with those you go to HS and possibly grew up with

Yep agreed. Like Steve said. Trickle down. College football coaches need to nip it in the bud. Maybe put a clause in scholarships if you’re heathy you have to dress and play. If not scholarship is now dept.

Chet i played baseball growing up, and I enjoyed practicing more then playing games because I would get more action in practice then in games. So sitting out a whole season doesn't jive with me. Maybe I'm just old school. Who knows.... I would gladly let that kid walk, I would rather have all heart on my team then all district.

this guy is just showing his true color - unfortunately, it's burnt orange Unfortunately nowadays many of the kids put themselves well ahead of their team. It is a sign of the times I'm afraid. UT has not lacked for raw talent.........EVER and certainly is not currently. Hell, take a look at the amount of 4 & 5-star kids on that roster each and every year and it is crazy. What they've lacked is a coach that knows how to get the most out of those athletes and build them into a great team with a hate to lose. I can remember about 9 or 10 years back they played Oregon St in the Alamo Bowl and had to come back to just barely win that game. The announcers said TX has something like 50+ 4-star and 5-star players on their Roster and Oregon St had like 6 or 7 and if I remember correctly not a single one of those was a 5 star recruit. Hopefully this coach can take that talent and get the most out of it.

I think Texas is on the right track. Coach, if he can stay sober, is a great coach and can recruit and win. Texas has a pretty solid offense this year, only question is QB. But Sark will develop him.
Hell, he developed Mac Jones a 3 star recruit who played one year, won a NC and was a top 15 draft pick.
Texas has lacked developing the 4/5 stars into NFL players.

When we went to the spring game, the boy and I were guessing how many games Texas will lose ...... we started out at 3, but by the end we were at 12.....
