Results out at 10 am mt

Good luck folks, we have tons of elk and an increase in tags this year for them.
Might just be some nice tags left for the leftover draw in July if you miss out in the 1st draw.

I are the leftover tags used for statewide, or area specific?

They will be area specific. Never any General NR elk tags leftover.
I'm thinking there may be some area 7-2 tags left for NR and those will be very hard to fill.

Usually cow tags are what is left, some will be reduced price and some will be full price cow tags.

The true left over list will come out after our Resident draw in June. Tags leftover will be in the leftover draw, application for those will be June 21-25 with results on July 8.
Anything left after that next draw will be OTC for all.

Didn’t draw. Had about a 50/50 chance. Not the end of the world even though this year would have worked better than next year for that hunt.

Good luck to all that drew!

Thanks for the reply. Hoping to get drawn again this year. We'll be there in about 2 weeks for 18 days so I plan on doing some scouting regardless.

It will be a great time to be up here, before tourist season gets really rolling and early summer weather, bring a jacket.
If you get up here by June 11 , this is a fun time :

We'll be getting there late on the 13th. Have plans to hit up the Chugwater chilifest the next weekend. My daughter and her boyfriend are flying in the next week so we'll probably spend a day or 2 at RMNP. Other than that just gonna do some hiking, fishing and lots of beer drinking.

If you come through Laramie, The Library has the best local beer and some decent food too for a bar/restaurant.
The drive from Laramie through Sybille Canyon is very nice, Highway 34, takes you from Laramie to Wheatland, I-25.
Snowy Range drive is also very nice and plenty of snow up high.
Mountains will probably get a nice dusting Sunday into Monday this coming week.

Rivers are high, local creeks are coming down if you want to fish. Some good browns in Sybille Creek along Highway 34, brookies too. A few spots to access for fishing along the highway. Might see some wild bighorn sheep and elk in the pens at the research facility.

Saratoga is a neat little western town with a free hot spring soaking pool in town. Saratoga Inn for nice lodging and good food at various spots in town.

Pronghorn fawns are dropping right now too, you'll see a bunch from the roads.

Thanks for all the info. I think we may actually be coming into Laramie so they can have some legal work done. We have to drive through some of the True Ranch to get to our cabin so we get to see a lot of antelope and mule deer fawns. Can't wait to get there!

Fishing might be pretty good when you get here, creeks are starting to get some moss though.
Saw the 1str pronghorn fawn Saturday morning so they are dropping now.
The elk in Sybille's pens have some nice antlers already as well.

Nice and green right now too, Laramie Peak looks nice.

Weekends in Laramie are open container downtown, grab a brew or a drink and you can stroll through downtown with it.

We'll be over near Pinedale scouting for spouse's moose hunt June 17 and 18th but if you're in Laramie, at The Library, any other Thursday-Sunday say howdy, we'll be at the bar enjoying some of Mitch's finest.

sent you a pm

The library is my go to brewery/burger joint.

I drew a cow tag. Hope to fill it in August and chase birds the rest of the year.

Good luck. Region J I'm assuming. There are good bucks but they are few and far between. Hunt hard, get away from roads and glass.

I concur. I would recc. the last week in Oct for the pre rut. Some mature bucks will be staging with doe groups then. Check the smaller state sections as well.

We'll be there in early October. Finally drew pronghorn, but not the unit I've been trying for the last three years.
