When I was young they had names like "Dub's Auto Parts" or "Harry's Hot Rod Shop".
Now, it's pretty much Auto Zone or O'Reilly's, maybe Walmark for some things.
Which is better? Inventory? Service? Price?

For the minimal amounts we buy it doesn't matter, but I still go to the local NAPA dealer. I pass an Auto Zone and an OReillys and I also have to pay more for the same thing.

Like everything else. An individual cannot compete with the big boys. Mom And Pops shops are becoming a thing of the past.

I like Auto Zone. Different ones in different cities around the State have done me right.
Growing up it was Wiley's Auto Parts in Richardson. My friends and I wore that place out.

I forgot. There is one in Bandera that does very good. Tripps Tire. A young man named Cody Tripp has a store on main street. He sells tires, Sthil chain saws, repairs them, rents out Bobcats and their various implements. A hard worker. Has his dad and wife working there. A fine hard working young man that has built up a heck of a business.

I havnt thought about Harry Hot Rod shop In a long time, I loved going in there as a kid and looking at all the shiny chrome with my dad. That was many moons ago, If I have to buy parts from a local parts store here I typically use Autozone,

Johnny's was the go in Garland. Midway and Jack's in Oak Cliff when I was a young hot rodder.
NAPA and Autozone get most of my buisness. However, I have found 1AUTO.com can be a source.
If the 2nd amendment was written just to include guns for hunting, why is there not an amendment to protect fishing poles?

Was Harry's Hotrod also known as Hotrod Exchange on Beckley near the old DFW toll road, now I30?

I like Napa and if that’s not available I’ll go to O’Riellys.

I like Napa and if that’s not available I’ll go to O’Riellys. I agree with this. But 9 times out of 10 NAPA doesn’t have what I need.

For parts, I like Napa Auto and they’ll look up parts and cross reference. Good fittings selection that you have to mix match. Fluid, oil Oriellys.

I prefer NAPA, but will use Oreillys for wiper blades, cleaning stuff and such. We still have a local independent that has or gets heavy truck and tractor parts as well.

I like Napa and if that’s not available I’ll go to O’Riellys. Yup, and I worked at one of the ones mentioned above. Vatozone is trash. I wont buy online either. I find a parts guy with a clue and use him when I need it.

Auto parts stores are not anywhere near what they were when I was a kid. Now, if they can’t look it up on a computer, they can’t help you. I despise auto zone and only go to O’riley’s out of necessity. There was a real auto parts store in Lewisville back in the 90’s, i think it was Barney’s, on Mill St.

The guy at NAPA in Junction failed my Bronco for inspection this past year. She took it hard. My man in Menard got it passed in Menard a few weeks later; also a NAPA store. The store in Junction does have a whole lotta extra ranch/hardware type stuff though. I just won't go back to that aging, hair-dying so-and-so for an inspection ever again. I went to antique automobile junkyards with my dad when I was a kid, to pull parts. I definitely learned the meaning of "junkyard dog". Dang, those animals scared the piss outa me.

O'reilly's in willis has good people... Advance is good too, AutoZone.... Anti gunners, that's all i have to say about them. there is a napa in Conroe on the loop.. but you deal with 10 times more traffic and lights getting there.

For parts my first stop is amazon.
For Oil my first stop is walmart.
If i cant find the parts I need on amazon I will drop by either the NAPA or O'rileys in town. The markup on parts at the actual brick and mortar parts houses is huge.

Yep. Prices are much better.... A $9-$10 Oil filter at Orielly was $4 on Rock. Wix too.
