Anyone know what this is about?

"To all EWA members, please see the following announcement concerning a Townhall meeting at the Ingram Tom Moore High School on June 8.

This meeting is being conducted by property rights experts, Dan and Margaret Byfield. The meeting will inform you concerning President Biden’s 30x30 land grab plan. This plan is a serious threat to anyone that owns private property anywhere in this country. The Biden plan is another attempt by the government at taking away your private property rights. Under this plan 30% of all private property would be taken away from private ownership and placed under the control of the U.S. Federal Government. This plan is to be in place by the year 2030 (30x30)."

I had not heard of it until now. Here is one site that i found that some information on it. It sounds like it's a global commitment on climate change.

Stupid fear mongoring...no land grab. If anything you can volunteer your land to be placed under permanent federal protection. Could be very useful for some land owners who could be facing eminent domain. But nooooo let's drum up the big bad demon crafts are stealing from you song.

My lawyers say differently. It will all come down to how much money you have to invest into higher cost carbon credit eligibility. No different then how current EPA has prevented some beneficial manufacturing upgrades because of the excessive over sight cost to get things EPA approved. 30-30 will turn it into a pay to play scheme benefiting the largest producers while allowing essentially price setting. The whole goal of 30x30 is to take land OUT of production and into “conservation”.

It is absolutely a form of a land grab when the government buyouts/controls your surface rights, especially if a farmer/rancher is HAVING to put it into the program due to carbon crediting and continued use in production. That’s the fundamental difference in it and current CRP/WRP program. Current program 100% voluntary and requires eligibility requirements being met and has enrollment/monetary Caps.

I really look forward to you disputing this.....

The way I understand it, this is a proposal or concept. Until there is proposed legislation, your lawyers are taking advantage of you by billing you for opinions based on your fears. It's fair to say "I don't like the concept" but a bit of a stretch to bring lawyers into interpreting legislation that has not been written.

Their job isn’t one of fear mongering, as a corporation we aren’t a small operator. Their job is to advise on future regulatory issues that “could” impact us. This isn’t brand new news. We meet qtr’ly. We aren’t in liberal Illinois or Minn(big carbon credit contracts) so we are pretty regularly free for now, but we still have to pay attention to All us state legislature and federal/political ideologies.

Will the EO is new, the concepts haven’t changed; cap and trade, GND, the carbon sequestration etc. all things that are being implemented quietly via EPA and state reg. These concepts are already in play, 30x30 EO is now just defining what the outcome target is.

This legislation wasn’t written yesterday, it been coming in parts since Clinton

There will be more class action lawsuits than you can shake a stick, styled every way imaginable that will keep it tied up in the court system until Biden's azz gets voted out.

Start googling carbon credits and farming... this has been going on and growing since 2002. It starts as income opportunity for farmers to help offset carbon issues for big Mfg’s, then farmers will start getting hammered on their carbon usage/practices. We started looking into carbon income potential in 2008/2009.

For general public it’s been quiet.

Their job is to make money by billing you hours. Since you meet quarterly I'm assuming you have them on retainer. You bring a question to them, they can either say don't worry about and make nothing, or say let me look into and charge you for the work. Then when they talk to you again they bill you for that.

Not so much a land grab as it will be so many regulations of what you can do on your property that it might as well be a land grab. So far all that's been issued is an executive order that 30% of the country's land and water be "conserved" by 2030.. No regulations or structure has been put in place to do it, but do you really think the Feds are going to do it in a way that makes sense?

Negative, You are missing mark and don't understand. You also dont understand how we got to the 30x30 EO. How do you think All the National and State Commodity and Agricultural Org’s get advised? We have had the same type of advisory council since late 70’s. They only presenting data to us that's been gather, they are essentially lobbyists, presenting current/future farm bill programs and Political changes that could impact us. I use other lawyers for litigation, trusts, lands transfers etc.
