Under $500, prefer 1" tube, doesn't need to be high-mag (prefer at least 12x, but required). Struggling to find something for my Annie 54 sporter.

I don’t know if this floats your boat but I saw the leupold 3i 3.5-10x for $399.

Athlon Talos BTR. 4-14, FFP, Illuminated reticle, focuses to 10 yards. $300. But not 1” and only comes in mil.

Sorry, I saw need recommendations earlier and didn’t even process the .22 and 15 yard part. I have no idea if that scope will do that.

It's going on a small annie 54 sporter, so a 30mm tube would look pretty funky. I also have $70 rings that are 1" and have no interest in buying new rings.

I looked into the vx-3i and it won't focus that close I think. They have an EFR version, but only in the 6.5-20x variety and that's a bigger scope than will fit on my rig.

I'm considering the Bushnell 4-12 Prime as my #1 target. Looks like a good fit for my requirements.

I think you're spot on with the 4-12 power & AO (focus/parallax) - I use the same and the 12x is nice for shooting out letters on targets at 100y.
One other thing to consider is the reticle - does it have/do what you want/need, & not too thick.

The reticle is probably my biggest concern - it looks a bit thick, but can't really tell online...

Not sure what you seek even exist. Most anything that will parallax down to 10 yards is a tactical type scope and most are going to be a 30mm-34mm tube. The crimson trace at midway on sale for 325 will go down to 15 yards and is 34mm 6-24x

I wouldn’t think a one inch tube has enough range to zero at 10-15 yards, it may but I had trouble getting a nightforce benchrest scope to zero at 20 yards with a flat 0 moa base.

Bushnell prime 3-12 and 4-12 both fit the bill. I missed one on ebay this week for $125...trying to find another

We bought a Mueller APV for my wife's 10/22 a few years ago. She was shooting at an indoor league and needed something with a parallax range that would get down below 50 yards. The Mueller APV costs less than 150.00 new, has parallax adjustment that goes down to 10 yards and gets good online reviews. For the money, it's hard to beat for a .22 scope.

After shuffling a bunch of scopes off and on my Tikka T1x, I put an extra Leupold VX3 4.5-14x40 (1” tube) with the Varmint Hunter reticle on the rifle. The fine crosshairs of that reticle let me shoot tiny groups, and the BDC lines let me shoot longer known distances accurately. The only problem, which rarely affects me but might be a deal killer for the OP, is that this scope won’t focus down to 15 yards. That said, maybe newer versions of the scope will allow it.

The neighbor was recently over to my range to shoot his 22, and then he shot mine. His comment after looking through the scope was “wow”. And after shooting the Tikka a few times, he said “wow” about the groups at 50 yards.

Our family has a Leupold 4X Rimfire with adjustable objective that dials down to 10 yards or so. My students used it to win a couple national championships at 50 ft on that little target with 10 bullseyes per page. It's a nice scope, but I'm not finding it new on internet searches, so perhaps they don't make it any more.

If you find a leupold 40mm that you like, you can get a 50 foot adapter if you can find one in stock. You screw it in to the objective bell. They run probably $50-$70. I have one on a 6.5-20 EFR that let's me focus to about 25 feet on 20x. I realize this is an older thread.

I am not much for adapters that are likely going to have a significant negative impact on image quality. I sold my Leupold 3-9x40 that was fixed parallax and I'm going to get a Bushnell Prime 3-12 or 4-12 as soon as I can find an affordable one on ebay.

The only negative impact that I've noticed is a little bit of reduced light gathering. Mine is on an air rifle, so it hasn't bothered me. If there is a reduction in image clarity, etc. at 20x magnification and 25 feet, I don't notice it. I don't know how well it would work on a fixed parallax, so having an adjustable objective or side focus would be my recommendation if you were interested in the 50' adapter. I had a sightron sii that had a 12 yard or so focus, but it was pretty long so it might not look that proportional on a 54 sporter.

Way overkill for OP, but the new Vortex Venom 5-25x56 FFP will (according to YouTube) go down to 15 yards. Midway has them for $500 right now.

For a 15 yard focus on a .22 look for an air rifle scope it will work just fine.

I haven't looked through one but I suspect it's the same scope as my 6-24x50 ET (no longer made) with just a couple of changes. I've used mine at 22x and it is pretty nice glass. There are 3-4 reviews on their site from verified buyers that all say the glass is very good.

Good scope for my Kidd Supergrade
Review by Gerardo F. on 3 May 2021 review stating

Good scope for my Kidd Supergrade Good scope for .22 precision shooting. For the price, it performs like glass 2x as expensive. The glass is clear, the FPP reticle is uncluttered, and the side focus works down to 10 yards.

Review by Skip G. on 17 Apr 2021 review stating Match Pro advantages 30mm tube, 50mm objective lens, Deploy Mil reticle, large lockable distinct knobs, Bushnell quality lens manufactured and coatings. My opinions are based on deer hunting in Northwest Florida and South Alabama. Also 21 years as a reconnaissance Marine with two combat tours in the jungle of Viet Nam has great influence on my decisions.
Adhering to the basic marksmanship principles is the absolute foundation of target neutralizing. Nothing can compensate for poor position, pRead more about review stating Match Pro advantages 30mm tube, 50mm objective lens, Deploy Mil reticle, large lockable distinct knobs, Bushnell quality lens manufactured and coatings.

oor sight alignment, unstable cheek weld, poor trigger squeeze, and recoil anticipation.
"It ain't the weapon" Gertrud. It's the shooter. If you want to be a "dinger", you got to stick to the basics.

Tube size: Tube size does not increase low light capability by allowing more light into the scope. Tube size either limits or enhances the features incorporated inside the scope. Also the smaller the tube the smaller the elevation and windage adjustment knobs. Small knobs are difficult to manage when the adrenalin is pumping. In hunting, and competition, when the target presents itself the shooter must have everything adjusted and ready to engage.

Knobs: The knobs need to be large enough to allow the shooter to adjust them confidently, quickly, and accurately. When the desired number of clicks are set they must be locked in to prevent movement. Probably with gloves on. The clicks must be positive, distinct, and confidently discernable. Low light conditions prevent reading the numbers on the knobs visually. Discernable clicks is the solution to that problem.

Reticle: If the shooter plans to use "hold off" or "dope changes" is a major factor in choice of reticles. My Marine Corps background has taught me the DMR, christmas tree, illuminated reticle is my preferred deer hunting reticle. Dope changes can be made by feel, quickly and locked. Hold off is easy and quick.

Illuminated: is good for low light, however the intensity must be precise.

Long range: What is long range? In very general terms most food plot deer hunters become uncomfortable at ranges of 250 to 300 yards or greater. Generally a deer hunter considers 400 yards as "long range". Some of you purists will dispute that number. Whatever.

Objective lens: More often than not, when the target presents itself the lighting is far less than ideal. The target will present itself about an hour before the legal shooting limit in afternoon plot hunting. That equates to most shots will be in low light conditions. Lens manufacturing precision and coating is the most important factor in low light marksmanship. Larger objective lenses are the second most important. So the choice of 44mm, 50mm, or 56mm are the most popular options. Mounting complications and other factors influence the choice of objective lenses.

So, take a good hard look at the specs on the Bushnell Match Pro. 30mm tube, 50mm objective lens, Deploy illuminated Mil reticle, large lockable distinct knobs, Bushnell quality lens manufactured and coatings. The bumping and banging, not to mention the mud and rain, that a deer hunter subjects his scope to requires an exceptional degree of robustness.

Add all of the above to frequent dry firing sessions practicing basic marksmanship principles and targets can be consistently neutralized.

There is not another scope out there that matches these qualities for this kind of money.

Review by Greg R. on 20 Feb 2021 review stating

This is the first scope This is the first scope I’ve owned in this price range so nothing to compare to, but the difference between it and the less expensive Simmons scope it replaced is amazing. Very clear, focuses easy, and the reticle dots are going to be very useful. At 100 yards I can actually see my 22 bullet on the way to the target.

Great scope
Review by Tim P. on 10 Aug 2020 review stating

Great scope I am very pleased with this scope. The perfect pairing with my Savage mkll TR. I have yet to find a single con, only likes. The dot is great. Very clear glass, and the turrets are crisp and positive. It is well made and should give me a lifetime of enjoyment. All thats left is for me to learn to utilize its potential.
