Batteries are heavy, and the truck weighs about 6,500 pounds, roughly 1,000 more than the same truck with the 3.5-liter engine. The batteries alone weigh about 1,800 pounds. The high-energy-density cells use a nickel-manganese-cobalt cathode chemistry with particularly low cobalt loading. For repairs, technicians will be able to remove suitcase-sized sections of the battery. The skateboard was designed from the ground up with a new frame positioning the battery pack between the rails, extending between the front and rear motors. There are no plans to add a third motor for performance.

So.......... registration cost will reflect additional weight.
Texas fuel price includes 38.5 cents per gallon. So....how does an electric vehicle cover thier share?
If the 2nd amendment was written just to include guns for hunting, why is there not an amendment to protect fishing poles?

City folks will but them. Country folks won't. I always wonder where the city folks think they are going to charge their cars overnight. You read stories all the time about the people fighting over street parking in front of their house. Well if you don’t have a a garage, where are you going to charge your car? Are they going to drop it off at a charging garage overnight and then Uber back home? This works fine for suburban folks with garages, but I just don’t see how it works when you live in a brownstone in New York. I also think the 39k price is pretty comical. That’s the one on the lot, just got sold 2 minutes before you got there, newspaper price. Unless you are looking at the single cab, stick shift, bench seat, and no A/C model, I thought new F150’s were closer to the more expensive 50K version.
Thanks, Rich

Ask the parts dept what a new battery costs. The rest of the truck comes free with the purchase of a new $40,000 battery pack!

I’m sure the disposal fee on a bad 1800 lb battery won’t be much.

I'm going the opposite way. 8 mpgs baby and 5 minutes to fill up Same here. A guy I know recently bought an electric car. I told him I went the other direction and bought a bigger truck with a bigger gas engine that holds more gas, so he would have to cover for my extra "footprint".

I will buy one. If they install a charging station at my deer lease, house, and office for free and pay for the electricity to charge it up!
High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

The power grid can barely handle the needs we have now. There's no way we have the capacity for everyone to be charging their vehicles in addition to the current load.

I could have used it when I lost power yesterday. Coal miners wife ironed clothes by that coal oil lamp. I had three flashlights. Guess what.

We are currently working with 3 different clients that are each in the design stage of installing hundreds of car charging stations in Texas. There will be more to come and I'm sure they will start becoming more visible in the near future.
Personally, I'm out.

When the grid goes down they will jump in that electric 150 ,roll the windows down and cruise the hiways for that cool refreshing air. That 100 degree weather will feel really good until they run out of battery.

I guess the day is coming when they'll be scores out of power waiting for a big old diesel generator to show up and give 'em a charge. I looked at the charging stations and most are a joke, a plug or two here and there. There is one in Canton behind the burger joint where the power goes into the building, back where the putrid grease dumpsters are.
One shot is all it should take.
