How tall is that rock? It makes the trees like mini dwarfs

That is really cool as hell!

High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

Rode my Harley from Rockwall four different years past that rock while on my way to Hulett. One year stopped at the store just to browse and watch a few people climbing around on it.It's big but I had no desire to check it out.

Cool story about the rock is before helicopters were invented 2 guys parachuted and landed on top of it with no way to get down. I don't remember how long the ordeal lasted but they built a wooden ladder up the side to get them down. Last time we were there you could still see some parts of the ladder left. True story.

After seeing this on the forum, I went out and did a little research on Devil's Tower and the stories.
I found a real interesting about a couple of ranchers who built a ladder up the tower. See link below.
I know there are others:

Found the story about the parachutist too. Looks like the ladder and parachutist got combined through the years

It's an impressive formation. Up close you can see the individual volcanic lava tubes that formed it.
