No, it isn’t summer yet, but what worries me is all the cool weather we are having, well beyond the time I’d expect cool weather. Many years ago I did some research for the oil company I worked for at that time. It was on annual average temperatures in the US. I had about 40 years of temp records to study, and what I found was that average temperatures didn’t vary very much more than about + or - 10% from year to year. Maybe better said, the study wasn’t so much about average temps, but more about temp variance. What it all suggested, data wise, was a year with hot weather would generally have a period of cool or cold weather to offset any above average hot weather and keep the overall year degree-day average within historical norms, plus or minus 10%.

Sooo, this period of cool weather will likely have pushed our average degree-days down below norms, and that would suggest that we’ll have hotter than normal weather at some point to bring us back within the usual range.

Cooler weather now should lead to warmer weather later.

Except for those few days, the rest of the winter was pretty mild this year.

We live in Texas. We can handle it. We may not like it but we can handle it. up

Remember 1980 & 2011 when we had over 40 consecutive days over 100 degrees. If/when it happens again the global warming alarmist will be going apoplectic. bang

It's better to gradually move into summer than slam into it all at once but I have enjoyed this cooler weather. It's coming and i'm not looking forward to it but there is nothing I can do about it. crying
And to think I lived just a stones throw west of Phoenix as a kid where it got hot and not a shade tree in sight.

1980 was the worst. It was horribly hot at 2:00 AM.

Good thing Oxner started the Temp thread. Now we can chart everyone’s temp and have the data to recognize trends

A few years ago I did some work in the Eufala, OK area June -August. It never got over 80° that summer. It was actually quite enjoyable, especially since I was in Oklahoma.

Is there anywhere in the United States that the temperature stays between 60 and 80 degrees, with low humidity?

Yep, Santa Barbara. Best weather in the world as far as I'm concerned.

It is what it is.
As long as I have AC, heat and a water tight roof, I can deal with weather.

NOAA says above average temps for May, June and July and slightly below average rain.......

2011, I think I only had to mow my yard once or twice that year.
