Bought a Keltec PMR 30 for Wifeypoo. Is there a particular ammo I should "attempt' to secure? Yes, it will be for personal defense.

40gr JHP is what I used to kill critters when I had a 22mag and they worked gooder than others, that was a rifle though. I think I still have some if you are looking to barter.

Hornady 45 grain self defense load. Mine eats them up and very accurate.

See what KelTec recommends in their user's manual. Start there and then work with other brands to see which one(s) work most reliably in wifey poo's new toy. Fancy self defense rounds that don't work reliably in the pistol are not worth a tinker's dam. Pull trigger, go boom, 30 times, every time. I have two of them, plus the carbine, and each one has a preference and their magazines are loaded with the ones they like!

I have the carbine, it really likes CCI 40 grain HP and solid.

BTW, Hud, be sure and read KelTec's recommendations on how to load the magazines to prevent rimlock. It will save you and wp a lot of frustration!

The one you have run thirty rounds through. Load it up again and tell her if she cant drop a crook in the house or yard then make sure she at least runs him into the next county. Full of holes.

Go ahead and offer to properly load all magazines for her , you do not want her to break a nail loading shells till they click, her nails are much more expensive than yours, and worth every penny. If you play this right you may get a heck of a back scratch, you know, cause you're sore, and she's protected.

This should be better than a vacuum cleaner. Good choice.
