One of the most versatile cuts of meat, generally tender when cut across the grain. We are moving down the river for a few days, and stopped by the grocery. He cut me a beautiful 3# roast to make 3 meals out of.

Season salt, pepper, garlic, onion, and special spice tonight. Lovely beef roll ups, with peppers and those awesome Tex sweet onions. Have another Mexican sazon/cumin dish for another night, and finally the Kentucky Bourbon teriyaki for kabobs. Heading out for the little grill that could!!

It turned out amazing. So hard to get them tender, and still medium rare so you aren’t forced to sauce them!!! Mix of fresh avacado and veggies Bea perfect!!

Didn't expect to see kentuckyaki on here. Love bourbon barrel foods. Especially the Worcestershire and soy sauce. Smoked spices are great too.

Bill. Salisbury steak at home is a staple, and one of our favorites! Do the same deep dark brown gravy and mushrooms with meat loaf, just leave the ketchup off the top if using gravy.

It was a chance to use my other sauces from the fridge for lunch. Left over roll-ups with spicy sweet chili and a new cilantro lime!!! Party in my mouth!!!

What is in that sauce besides mushrooms?

Come on Bill.... Everyone knows that the "Secrets in the sauce".

For creamier gravy, add the flour to the mushrooms while cooking, before your broth. I like to use beef broth for a hearty gravy, some people prefer vegetable broth that doesn’t challenge the mushroom taste as much.

I like it a lot of ways, favorite probably sautéed mushrooms and diced onions in a little oil or butter (5 min), then add some minced garlic and red wine (too much wine can turn your mushrooms dark). Stir in about 3 Tbsp of flour and whisk well. Add the beef broth and whisk and simmer til thickened. If you have already cooked your meat, you can scrape the pan and add drippings to the gravy also. Salt and pepper to taste, but less salt is always better
