That chip shortage goes way deeper than just pickups. I had ordered a bunch of pickups in January, Ford cancelled my order and pushed them into 2022 year models. Against my better judgement I checked on GM pickups, and it was the same story. All my heavy truck orders are waiting on electronic parts from Peterbilt and Western Star, Cummins has availability problems with electronic parts as does Caterpillar. The common thing I hear from all of these vendors is that IBM is the hold up. It seems like they would have diversified their supply some.

I checked the pricing on my 2019 Tundra that I bought almost two years ago. The pricing was consistently $8 to $10 thousand more than I paid for it. Insane!!

It’s insane. My buddy only wanted $20k for a 2015 LTZ Duramax in great shape. When I looked online to see if it was a fair I immediately called the bank and told them to get a check ready by COB. I lucked out.

I was offered $53k for my loaded 1/2T Laramie Crew 4x4 Ecodiesel, about what I paid for it a year ago. Crazy. Not sure what I'd buy that I like, or performs any better though anyway.

I had oil change at the dealer for all three vehicles in the household during the last week. The lots weren't empty but some models were in short supply. At the Nissan dealer zero Titans and a few Tacomas, at the Dodge/Jeep about 15 Rams and lots of 4 door Wranglers including a few Gladiators, zero new two door Wrangler Sport and only two used, The Suburu dealer had only a few Foresters, some Outbacks, but a pretty a good number of Ascents.

Was at Grapevine Ford today and they had about 15 f250's on their lot ranging from Lariats to a Limited. Average sticker was about 82K,...next to the window sticker there was an added 10K for pricing adjustment! Which changes the average pricing to 90K per truck.

Just crazy!
