Maybe throw a mixture of rye and bermuda a get the best of both - quick / short lived rye to hold the young / slow growth bermuda

Mix of rye and fescue seed - fast, cheap, & fescue should be established when rye burns off.

I stacked grass all through HS and had a sodding business in college. If I had the time I would get back into it, $120 a pallet install would make for some easy cash.

That’s if you can buy it for under $120 a pallet. I happen to have a source that I keep secret and buy it at $65 a pallet picked up or $90 delivered.

Hydro seeding generally takes 5-7 days to come up, typical Bermuda grass seeding can be 3-4 weeks this time as year as well. It’s to warn already to use Ryegrass or at least it will be before it starts covering anything and the fertilizer required will kill your cheap grass plan so if your wanting cheap fast grass, well your SOL Your best bet is to call a local sod farm and buy whatever their cheapest grass is or pay to have it hydro seeded and pray it doesn’t come a flood before it comes up.. Personally I’d go for the sod and be done with it but I’m stupid sometimes so who knows but good luck.
