 After 35 years cabin finally burglarized

Went to my property on Saturday in Mills county to find that someone had broken into my cabin. Never had a problem before then. They broke in thru a window and ran sacked the place. throwing everything around. opened all cabinets and scattered everything on the ground. As far as I can tell all they took was a hammer, broken pair of binocs, ziplock bags. maybe some clothes. They left behind toolbox, bottle of whiskey and ammo food and water. Cops came out in force, took pictures and dusted for finger prints (was a slow day in Goldthwaite) and were very helpful. I'm thinking it was younger kids but sure got me riled up. Game cameras showed nothing but a few more will be added to the cabin area.

I cannot stand thieves. Met a guy one time who spent some time in person for burglary. He said he almost exclusively burglarized deer camps. He hit most places in the offseason or during the week when most hunters aren’t in camp. He stole all kinds of stuff including guns. He felt most guns were left behind on accident when the hunters left camp. He was a serial burglar and did a pretty good stretch the last time he was down.

I’ll be there this weekend; if I hear anything I’ll mention it. Hope they haven’t hit our place. I'll be there possibly this coming Friday. I'm pretty sure it was our next door neighbors kids. They are pretty trashy people and are known for trouble in the area. Wish i could have caught them on camera.

If you think it's neighbors, I'd spend some time looking for signs or "dropped" items between you and them.........they might have left behind a trail
