Took my wife out for dinner last night. This morning to the nursery to buy flowers that I then planted for her in some whiskey barrels. Then dinner at another restaurant.

If that was a question, I think you already answered it...

I said 3 Forks. But I was actually at Silver Fox last night at 7. (Richardson).

That is where we went. You might have noticed us, we were the noisy bunch. Funny years ago started a thing with my mother-in-law who I really adore, end of meal, especially really nice restaurants, I threw my nice cloth napkin across the table, hit my mother in-law in the face perfectly (and softly I might add), it wrapped around her face, she yanked it off, looked at me (and I'm thinking chit what have I done), and immediately she busted out laughing, and threw it back at me. My wife did not think it was funny, and trust me I got a real earful after that. But what is funny now everytime me and my mother in-law go out for dinner it is a game she starts and loves it, and this game was in full swing last night. roflmao

OMG, you know that is my favorite restaurant? You go to the one on Beltline? In 70's, we drove across town on our motor cycles and ate at the original, grandma Harrera cooking her son working the cash register. I would love to go back to those times. Pic below fan left of door, that was from the kitchen, it blew most awesome smell you like drooling inline. roflmao Lines went would go 50 yards...

I stood in that line on Maple many times. Started eating there in 1975. Lucio and Mama. And that little lady in the kitchen making hand made flour tortillas and their special hot sauce in a molcajete.
We eat at the Illinois location now. It's the only one left that still makes the original recipes and the Herrera hot sauce.

good to know you were there back then too.

My brother in law fed the women brunch at his lake house today. Green chile sausage egg casserole, bacon, biscuits, sausage, fruit, and mimosas. He said he didn't need any help, so I kept fishing!

We took Mom to Heim BBQ on White Settlement in Fort Worth. The burnt ends and macaroni and cheese were excellent...brisket very good...surprisingly the turkey was pretty bland...Overall, I'd give it a 3.75 out of 5 stars.

Glad you liked it, probably the most overrated bbq joint I've ever eaten at.

We almost got a Herreras real close to the house at Campbell and Hillcrest in the old closed down Taco no Bueno location, the owners of the building wanted to much $$ so they moved to the Beltline in Addison location. Now we have a frickin plant store in the old Taco no Bueno location bang

All of the other locations changed the recipes except the Denton Drive location, which is gone now.

The only one that remained the same as the original Maple Ave food was Illinois.
If you want to revisit some memories, go there and order a Jimmy's or some Crazy Nachos.

She had lobster tails and a filet while I had half of a ribeye and lobster tails.
The African lobster tails didn’t make it here in time so I had to improvise with these tiny ones but they showed up this morning so it’s Gigantic lobster tails in a few days.. [Linked Image]

Why African lobster and not Maine? Again I find myself waiting on tail popcorn
