I was getting gas yesterday and a feller pull up to the pumps with a trailered 69 Nova, good looking car nice detail. Since there was no emblem on the side denoting engine size i asked what he had in it. He looked, smiled and said same motor your running. Turns out the original motor was a 307 and it just so happen his 2019 GMC was stolen in Dallas and the kids rolled it. They totaled the truck and he bought it back from the insurance company. He pulled the 6.2 out of the truck and put it in the Nova. Transferred all the electronics and fuel system over to the Nova, said it would run in the mid 12's. That must have been a hell of a project to pull that off. Didn't have time to look at how he stuffed all that in there but it was pretty impressive. Only thing he didn't use was the rear end.

LS swaps are done a lot, people drop those motors in just about everything.

Whole lot more room under the hood of that Nova than you might think. Small block 350s were not that uncommon.

Aren’t they both small block motors ?
Seems it would be a fairly easy swap, although admittedly I couldn’t do it in my garage.

I think you could get it in a big block also. I remember a SS-396 was available at the time, it was running over 400 HP. The 6.2 runs 420 stock and he was running the 8 speed transmission. Just did some checking and the Yenko model was available with a 427/450 HP. I'll bet keeping that little car in a straight line wasn't easy, they weighed less than 3,000 lbs. My Coronett 440 RT was just under 3500 lbs.

The biggest challenge for me would be swapping over all the electronic and crap the newer motors are running. Things ain't as easy as they used to be. I dropped a Dodge 440 in an a 52 Willis pickup in one weekend back in the early 70's, doing something like this is way over my head.
