Texas Senate is voting on Permitless carry today.Seems they have been talking about it all morning long. I have mixed feelings on it.

Now it goes back to the house because the bills out of both chambers must be identical before they go to the governor.Gov. Greg Abbott has said that he will sign the bill if it makes it to his desk.

Is there enough time left to get that done, I believe there's only a few weeks left. I'm just not convinced this is a done deal yet. If the house passes the senate bill as is it won't be a problem but if they don't and rewrite it them then it's back to the senate. I don't think there's enough time left for that. I hope I'm wrong but I put nothing past a politician. Drop a poison pill or two in it knowing the house won't agree then claim I voted for it but the house turned it down. It's not like we haven't seen these antic's before. The legislature goes out of Session on the 30th.

Might be the case if all states went to constitutional carry but a LTC is still required in most. If you never plan on leaving TX then you'll have no need for an LTC.

Like you, I won't breath easy until Abbott signs it.

But I believe ultimately it will cross his desk.

The gun grabbers won't give up, but there's stronger support in the house than the senate, and watching the anti-gun senators yesterday, they acted resigned to the probability it would get to the governor.

Not true...there will still be a strong demand. Your LTC still provides NICS exemption and reciprocity in other states.
Also, responsible gun owners are still going to seek training at all levels, they just won't have the guberment telling them so.

Some dems are so concerned about people carrying without proper training ? WTH are they talking about, don't they know there are probably more people on the streets that are carrying right now that havn't had any training at all and probably havn't fired a handgun but are still carrying ?.Good grief.

The state reciprocity of a CHL is more than enough reason for me to maintain mine.

Same here. My peace officer license and department policy govern how and where I carry off duty, my LTC just makes buying guns a little easier.

Let's get things strait...it's no longer called "CHL". In Texas it's now called "LTC". (License to Carry)

Thanks for the correction. You misspelled straight.

Along party lines, so that is easy. If they have a D by their name, they voted NO.
