Usually a little later than most vegetables. It will last until frost. It is difficult to keep up with picking it.

Okra will produce even during the hottest days of summer if it gets a little water occasionally.

Growing up my Dad wanted the okra picked once early in the morning and then again late in the afternoon. It is amazing how much those pods can grow if you wait 24 hours between pickings. Dad wanted the pods picked when they were as long as the index finger.

Luck favors the prepared mind.

We love fried, but try this. Place pods in a grilling basket on the grill with a light coating of olive oil and sprinkled with garlic salt. Its like eating candy!

Agreed. Sliced longwise in half with oil and seasonings in the air fryer is good too.

Picking it was punishment in the summer if we were out drinking with friends the night before. (Still in high school)
