Dad used to love an onion sandwich. Now that the wife’s garden is producing mucho onions, I’m gonna make myself an onion sandwich with Hellman’s Mayo and eat it in Dad’s honor.

He would also chop onions real fine in a bowl, crumble up some sardines, drench it all in lemon juice and eat it. I like that too, but haven’t tried it in years.

Either one will back off your best friends.

I'm guessing the methane that thing produces would easily clear a room.

With a good vidalia onion, I could go with just that and bread.

Tomato and mayo for me, although I do not mind about a half pound of bacon.

Growing up we had a family like that. They would just pull an onion up out of the ground, strip off the outer layer and start eating it. They would also peel cloves of garlic and eat them like candy. I couldn't get the first bit down, but kudos to those who like it.

That was back in the day when onions would bring tears to your eyes. I remember when various tricks were passed around to prevent tearing. It was like helpful hints.

I used to like onion sandwiches but not so much anymore since they seem to give me gas now.

As much as I love them in cooking, and as toppers, I draw the line at making a sandwich out of just onion. Gotta have meat of some type

Hellman's is also Key! Not sure what it is but they know Mayo!
I've got a variety of onions growing out back that will knock your socks off. Not even sure if they are actual onions. Long and slender and have a spicy bite to them.
Really delicious variety and I'M NOT AN ONION FAN! These things are awesome!

That was my grandma. She would sit down for a meal with her plate and an onion on the side. She'd eat it like an apple. No thanks, not for me.

Never heard of anyone who ate a sandwich with just Onion, Mayo and bread. I like onions a lot, but not straight up or a sammich like that just does not sound that appealing.
