NO, because of this era Savage d&t all their 99's, with non factory drilled & tapped, I would discount at least 50%, depending on whether or not I wanted a shooter grade. thanks for the ?, always glad to pass on any info I have learned the last 50+ years

NOW, there is a custom mount that does not require drill & tapped. all savage's were drilled for tang sight's (peep) this custom utilizes the tang holes for the rear mount, the front is secured in the rear iron sight dove tail. does not detract from value at all, and perfect for us older shooters, anyone interested contact me and will forward info to Mike (Ca) the last one I bought was $190.00, I am setting this one up to shoot hogs out of a stand, still some tightening to do. its on deluxe G in .303 savage, a great round for most any thing in N. America
