Ace was given to me at about 5 or 6 years old. I hunted him for about 4 or 5 seasons then he got to where if he ran for an hour, he couldn't hardly use his back end for three days so I retired him. He later had to have a tumor removed that I assume was cancer and I'm sure that's what took him in the end.
Worse part of this whole deal is, Daisy (16 yrs old Brittany) has had a stroke and is barely hanging on and expected to pass any minute(she's in two of the pics). Two in one week isn't going to be easy.

That's tough. Especially sorry it's coming all at once. That's a lot to deal with.

Sorry to hear this Kevin. You gave them a good life and if dogs could talk they would no doubt tell you how much they appreciated being cared for lovingly and how much they enjoyed going hunting with you.

I'm so sorry for your loss.
I met Ace when he was only around a year old.
Sweet dog, that ran big at the time.

condolences
I hate seeing these posts, my 13 YO GSP will go one day and even though he's useless as a window on a submarine, (gun shy)he's my buddy. I have two others to help me through it.

There is time, and you must take it, to lay your hand on your dog's head as you walk past him lying on the floor or on his settle, time to talk with him, to remember with him, time to please him, time you can't buy back once he's gone" GBE

He could really move back in the day. when he hit 10 yo he couldn't walk for 3 days after a 1 hour run so I retired him. He was such a sweetheart, loved the ladies at my vet.
