On May 10th, Argyle ISD will instate a 'mask optional' policy. School ends 5/22, so only 2 weeks.

My son (16) said we will no longer wear his.

My daughter (8) has been indoctrinated.

Our district was one of the first to start in person back in August. I joked about them being the canary in the coal mine.

What is going on with the other districts?

Gordon isd lifted their mask mandate about a month ago. I'd say 80% aren't wearing one now

Joshua made theirs optional at the end of March. I believe Burleson is still mandatory. The university where I work is mandatory until 5/31.

And have any of these schools had any significant rise in cases?

I’m in east Texas and they just lifted it I think 2 weeks ago in van. They have said if cases spike above 10 in the district then they will go to wearing them. So far no rise in cases.

Edgewood quit as soon as they could have a meeting after the governor cut it loose. Maybe a week later.

Some folks will wear one for life.

Weatherford quit wearing mask months ago..very smart decision. Wife is a teacher and was 100% on-board. We are moving to Peaster soon and they never required mask the whole school year...never had mass out breaks.

My kids haven’t had to wear one all year. They’re younger, though. Y’all see where the Supreme Leader of Michigan now requires 2 year olds to wear masks? My 3rd kiddo is 2. He’s a wild man, and I could not imagine trying to keep him in a mask (not that we ever would).
