I just read an article on KCBD that the Twisted Root in Lubbock is reopening Wednesday April 21st. I'm wondering if the location in Tyler at the mall is going to reopen also? Love the Twisted Root.

Add Carrollton to that list also, don’t even know if they are still open

Twisted Root filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on many of its non-franchised restaurants last summer. 12 of the 17 locations were owned by the parent company and 5 were franchised. Of course the filing came after they received $90k in PPP funds for each of the 12 locations.

I remember the co-owner saying that it was probable that some of the restaurants wouldn't reopen. The original in Deep Ellum was at the forefront of the high-end burger movement and was really good. The chain concept led to their demise- I remember going to the SMU land Fairview locations and the quality and service were not on par with the original. This was years before Covid.

I think the one in Waco is still open. If it is, it's surely been handicapped by I-35 construction (in addition to COVID).

I've been one time and that was enough. Nothing special about it.

Absolfreakinlutely. I've been there 3 or 4 times with people who talk about how good it is and never been impressed. So so food and expensive. There's a dozen places in Lubbock that have better burgers.
