If this is for prairie dogs or ground squirrels, you're unlikely to be able to use much magnification over 16x due to mirage. I've shot lots of them in Montana and Wyoming, and the wind never seems to stop,

The Nightforce scopes are rugged as a tnk and they track very well, if you're the type that spins turrets a lot.

Its for target comps, F-Class, LR Steel, mostly, (1K yards max)

Someone yesterday had a 10-50 Sightron on a rifle. No idea who, never placed the rifle with a shooter. It’s another option to consider. I believe they are Japanese and have been on the market a good while.



I would pick Kahles, just because I want one.

I've owned both and I love both. The Kahles glass is just amazing, so I would probably pick it, but you can't wrong with either one.

Take a look at the Nightforce Competition 15-55 is purely a target scope.

Out of what you listed I’d pick the Kahles as a first choice the nx8 as a second choice.

I have these on my rigs. All have tested out well. Get the enhanced reticle.

But of what you have listed the Kahles.

The most important question you should be asking, Buzz, is “which has the best re-sale value?”

I have the 2-20 mrad and am enjoying so far about 4 months old. I will say a guy I shoot with runs k series and owns quite a few 6-24 and they are very nice. I’d say glass is on par with Atacr. The nx8 is no slouch though to me it is a twin to razr Gen II glass wise. All scopes mentioned have excellent turrets imo. FYI I see 8-32 atacr’s in moa often at a solid discount on LRH.com

I do like the New Sightrons with the zero stop but they are hard to find

Any "used" optic scares the he77 out of me unless it is sold by a reputable place like Cameraland.

Buzz, I buy used high end glass all the time. Never got a bad scope yet.
Most people that drop $2500 - $4000 on a scope take care of their gear, and most companies will warranty their scopes if you ever have an issue.

I bought a used Swarovski 4-16x50 scope many years ago. I got it for less than half of what it cost new, and used it on 6 different rifles. It stopped holding zero, so I called Swarovski and told them that I bought it used. They sent me a shipping label, and repaired / rebuilt the entire scope for free.

FiremanJG made me buy a Nightforce. I wasn't willing to spend on the ATACR, so I ended up with an NX8. 4-32 F1 with MIL-XT. I like it.
