For a 6.5 creed savage ultralight..athlon midas btr 4.5-27 or crimson trace s53-18? I'm fine with either focal plane. I would have already bought the midas but read reviews of turrets having too light of a resistance so now I'm hesitant. Will be a blind gun and occasional long range shooting..

I have an athlon talos btr on my long range 22. Its pretty good for a $300 scope, but it's just a stopgap until I can get a better scope. I know nothing about the crimson trace other than what I've heard, but supposedly they are good.

I have the crimson trace 6-24x series 2 on my 22 been running good the only complaint the turrets are a little soft but it repeats and will pass a box test glass is good and was made in Japan. The series 5 is definitely a big upgrade from my and I’d love to have one. Buy with confidence.

Never had an athelon

CT is made in Japan. I really like that reticle. For a combo hunting/shooting rifle, 3x on the bottom is nice. The value in the CT at the Midway sales price makes it hard to argue.

I have the 5 series 3-18 and 3-24. Steal at the price glass is comparable to my dmr II’s and vudu’s. The only gripe I have is the turrets a little soft for my liking. I have the 3-18 on a 300 blk bolt gun and the 3-24 on a 260 ar-10. Been 100% reliable. Midas BTR is several steps below the CT 5 series. It would be closer if it was Ares ETR with ETR having noticeably better turrets. ETR is hard to beat for the money, but at the closeout price for midway the CT all day.
