Back when Ron Coburn was running Savage, I had the opportunity to tour the factory. They had a display room where many of the rare Savage firearms were in glass cases. It has been several years since I was there but must admit that I don't remember this beauty. The Savage 99 has to go down as one of the true big game hunting classic rifles and my favorite of the lever guns.
