This is getting crazy. Steel, wood, cement, electronics...the list goes on. People need to get back to work instead of waiting on more mailbox money!

Been noticing since last year when the COVID started big gaps at the grocery stores where goods used to be on the shelves.

I dont travel around the country and I try not to watch the news. Are there really that many people not going to work now? We have been all back 100% for a long time now, even when working from home we never stopped working. From the changes I have seen in traffic I had assumed most were back at it.

I'm right in the middle of building a new office and am having a hard time getting doors. Steel is way up and my builder can't get the full order on site from the supplier. Local lumber companies shut off sales to everyone but their frequent large customers.

Tried to order electronic boards for one of our devices we build and they are showing 3 month wait times.

I am sure most of the factories, mills, etc. are going to use the excuse they can't operate at 100% because of people working in tight quarters. What they should do is rename the building to a restaurant since we all know the covEEd knows to stay away from them.

From what I'm being told that is a big part of the problem. Covid shutdown some shifts and shift staffing, then add in the unemployment and stimulus checks and we have the making of something bad that is only getting worse.

Not to mention a lot of federal, state, county , and city employees trying their damndest to do absolutely nothing and still get paid for over a year now. "Keep those doors locked!" "Call for an appointment!" (Of course, we're not gonna actually answer the phone.)

It’s ridiculous. We are seeing a cement shortage, steel is stupid high and now I’m having he77 getting some electronic components from Siemens. I was at Elliot Electric last week, and they said they are on the verge of not taking any off the street orders. Our business has not missed a day of work since this BS started, and we carefully managed the Covid deal with great success, and never told a customer we couldn’t do the job. It’s past time for all the lily livered stay at home and make excuses folks to get back to work.

What is really crazy is it has not slowed down the single family home market.

They just pass the increased cost on to the home buyer.

Nowadays it is nothing for the price of a new home to jump up 25 thousand.

I'm glad we chose a simple life. We got fresh caught fish and venison to last until 2022. My garden is coming on. We got fire wood in case the winter gets bad.

Yes, there are still huge numbers of people not working, or working from home right now. I was at Schlumberger's Campus in Sugar Land last week, and where the parking lots are normally overflowing they are like ghost towns right now, have been since covid panic began. Traffic in general seems to be returning to pre-shutdown levels if that's any indicator. But I have been to several customers' facilities in the last couple of months that are still running skeleton crews. It's also reflected in lead times we're experiencing on materials as well.

I work for FedEx and we can't get people to come to interviews. The unemployrment checks need to stop.

serano / refried bean tacos doesn't sound bad. Just the right fiber mix. up

Most of the other things I've ordered have been late. Custom ammo took 3 months because of components being hard to get.

The price increases you see are a combination of a few things. You can't simply "print" trillions of dollars without inflating the cost of goods and services. Your money isn't worth what it was even a few months back.

Reminds me of 2000 when my GC's would call me and ask if I can get sheetrock. I told them yes and they would say "you have a job to start". I would tell them that I didn't bid or win that job. They said no matter, just do the job and send an invoice. Ahh, that was interesting times. Sold the business in 2010 and sure glad I'm not a commercial drywall contractor anymore.

There are still a LOT of people out of work in my industry.

After almost 10 months of me being unemployed, I accepted a job offer today and start work on Monday.

It has been a very stressful, depressing, and down right frustrating 10 months of job hunting with several quality job offers falling through at the last minute for one reason or another......I 'm FINALLY going back to work. Thank you Lord!

I know my poor liver will thank me, as I have been guilty of self medicating a little bit lately. eek
