I guess I must be missing it... Looks like a drive line hooked up to the PTO to me. Used to cuss them much more before I got smart and took all those BS plastic covers off of my drive lines. Those things make it impossible to grease the CV joints/U joints properly.

Does not make sense to pull on the collar and push on the shaft at the same time. There has to be a better design.

Then it clicks forward and locks in. Then I pull backwards until I'm sure it's locked on. Might try pulling back on that collar with both hands as far as it will go, and see if it locks in for you. If you don't pull back hard enough, it won't lock back, and can be a PITA. The push button connector locks are worse.

Agree with BbarV take the dadblamed covers off. To be safe, all you need to be is smarter than the shaft..... With the cover off you can get a thumb in the yoke for better leverage to get the collar to lock back as well..

The push button connector locks are worse. Same as mine. They get gunked up and won't operate as designed sometimes. A good cleaning and lubing should take care of that. It is supposed to work as stated above.

If you cuss on hooking that one up, try hooking up a damn disc cutter. lol
I hear what you are saying and I like another on here do not have any damn plastic guards on any of my PTO drive lines. They are removed from the get go.
I will not go anywhere near a shaft until it has completely stopped so I don't feel safety is an issue by removing them on my implements.
High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

That's the key! If it's moving, don't go near it. The plastic shields are just there because the lawyers told 'em to.

Also squirt a little WD 40 or something on PTO shaft to help things along. On my Kubota MX 5200 I can turn the shaft to help line things up. Anyway sometimes it's a whooping to get connected.

Collar moves easily, but does not lock when pulled back. I did cut the plastic off other implements and will do the same on when I need to swap out.
