We just got back from a axis doe hunt in Sonora, Texas. Mike has been responsive and communicated well the past year since this was booked. In February I contacted him to discuss the population numbers after the hard freeze and he told me some died, but the majority of strong animals made it through. As this was 100% accurate. The guides were on time from start to finish and did a great job communicating expectations, ranch rules and information about hunting axis. As far as lodging is concerned this was outstanding and in new buildings that was prepped for our weekend. The two guides worked tirelessly all weekend and we were spotlighting until 4 AM Sunday for the hunters who had yet to connect with a doe. One deer that was injured during the spotlighting was tracked in the dark through for 300 yards the woods Without light in Rocky country until he managed to jump on the deers back and put it down. This hard work netted the hunter a possible lost deer that would have ended up dying in 24 hours. I have used many guides and my bottom line is no BS and provide what you advertise. WTHO gets the highest review I have ever given.
