Probably, the purchase will be late this year or early next year. The 2022’s aren’t even out yet, and it might be tough to get one when they are. Even worse, if I specify all the stuff I want on the truck, my negotiating leverage is gone. But, having any significant negotiating leverage in the first place on a Toyota truck is a joke anyway.

As for the wife giving permission, it really wasn’t that at all. The Lexus payments end real soon, so a truck payment can take its place. We have it set up that the payments are made automatically from one of our investments, so we never see or handle the payments ourselves.

I’ll probably have to sell the present truck if I want top dollar. Shouldn’t be hard to do, considering the great condition it’s in.

What if Toyota doesn’t have a good red color? Can’t bear to consider another color. Not going with black. Had a few black cars in the past, and they looked good, but ya gotta keep em clean.

Funny, my wife agreed to let me get a new truck last night in some friendly bartering. I probably won’t buy until later in the year like you.

I bought a new vehicle last week, I had to pay more than I wanted.

Low inventory is the issue, I looked at some vehicle used that was 1 or 2 year old and most had 100K miles on them, and they wanted like 10K less than buying brand new.

Daily driver/local hunting buggy, is a 95 gmc Jimmy 4x4 with 190.000+ on it.( Was daughters first vehicle when she turned 16 ), Truck is a 2004 Chevy 2500hd 4x4, extended cab with 105.000. Bought in 2004, No payments and I can still work for on most things on them if an issue does arise. Which there have not been a lot on either. Knock on wood!

I'll keep my 2020 F-150 Lariat 4x4. Close to 200K miles but still runs like a champ. I spend probably $1000/year on maintenance give or take. Been paid off for 7 years - sure hate to have a $700+ monthly payment, though I do like the diesel Ford F-250 Lariats. Those Tundras are nice truck however!

You paid off your truck 5, 6 years before it was manufactured. That's getting it. You drive a ton though.

My 2020 F-150 is a great truck. Does everything it’s supposed to do. With that said I hate it. I miss my F-250, I’ve had F-150s on and off my whole life, new and old, but I don’t recall being without an F-250 at the same time. Damn truck feels almost feminine driving it.

Vehicles are insane right now. New and used. We have been looking and looking. Finally settled on a 2020 with 15k miles that was certified vehicle last night. Looking for last 6 months this was the best deal we found and it wasn’t much of a deal.

Black trucks are hot as hell in the texas sun... red gets you a high insurance premium My next vehicle will be a resto rod K 5. And maybe it will cost 50 K but will be a hell of a lot more fun than a new one. Something to consider

I like to buy white trucks. They don’t get as hot in the summer. I do get the occasional “looks like the cable guy” comment.

Inflation. Drive a bit West and inventory gets better and better. Your 65k doesn't buy what it could have a year or 2 ago!

I miss my ‘11 extended cab. Sucker ran like a scaulded ape. My 16 just past 100K last week and I freakin missed it.
